SISIS turf machines swing into action at The Belfry

The Belfry golf resort has selected SISIS’ turf maintenance machinery. The ‘Megaslit’ and ‘Multislit’ tractor mounted deep slitters will be used to maintain the greens, surrounds, approaches and fairways on all three of the PGA courses at the resort.

Course manager Angus Macleod has been at The Belfry for two years but says he has had more than 30 years of experience working with SISIS machinery. “Because of the volume of land we have here, we needed something that would do a good job and do it quickly,” he said.

“Both machines immediately ticked all of our boxes giving us a clean slitting motion for quick root pruning, slicing the fibre and controlling thatch.”

The Megaslit is a tractor mounted, 2.5m wide deep slitting aerator which gives a deep, clean penetration and is designed for larger areas, according to SISIS. The smaller 1.5m wide Multislit is also a tractor mounted deep slitting aerator – and can be used on a compact tractor, minimising the overall weight on the surface.

The two machines join The Belfry’s turf maintenance equipment fleet of more than 200.
